Fashion Flashback Exhibit Opening

Thursday, January 15, 2015 6-8pm

The Charleston Museum's new fashion exhibition, Fashion Flashback, 1920s-1960s: Five Decades of Style that Changed America will run from January 12 through May 10, 2015 in the Historic Textiles Gallery. This will be a journey back through time with a decade-by-decade look at clothing styles, beginning with an exploration of the hip 1960s and working backward to the swinging 1920s. Women's and men's clothing and accessories will be displayed, offering a light-hearted look at fifty years of fashion.

To celebrate the launch of this exhibit, The Charleston Museum will host a Fashion Flashback Opening Reception on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 6 - 8 pm. Please join us as we take a step back in time to celebrate decades past of Charleston fashion and culture. Come dressed in vintage from your favorite decade! Enjoy musical "throw-backs", lovely decorations, delicious food, cocktails, ice-cream treats, wine, and beer, while taking a look at our new exhibit and learning from our curators. For those of you who don't have your outfit already, Cavortress in Mt. Pleasant will be present on the evening of the event with some lovely vintage pieces on hand as well as ready for those of you shopping beforehand!
